Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's pal Omid Scobie lashes out at 'power hungry' William

Omid Scobie has launched a new attack on Prince William as he calls the Prince of Wales “power hungry” in promotional content for his new book.

Scobie, said to be the unofficial mouthpiece for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, revealed the cover of his latest book Endgame this week, describing it as a “penetrating investigation into the current state of the British monarchy – an unpopular king, a power-hungry heir to the throne, a queen willing to go to dangerous lengths to preserve her image and a prince forced to start a new life after being betrayed by his own family”.

Being the heir to the throne, Prince William was described as the “power-hungry heir” in the description of his book.

A source told The Mail on Sunday: “I’ve been told this is bad, very bad. It is unlikely that Royal aides will comment, but if there are charges of racism, they will, of course, be robustly rebutted.”

Endgame will be released on November 21, making this the author’s second tell-all book.

Mr Scobie co-wrote Finding Freedom with Carolyn Durland in 2020, which revolved around the married lives of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex,

The author has now shared a sneak peek on X, giving fans a glimpse at what they can expect.

He shared a picture of the front cover of the book showing three royal couples – King Charles and Queen Camilla, the Prince and Princess of Wales and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

His laptop was also visible in the picture, where parts of chapter 13 could be seen.

The chapter on show appeared to critique the British press, and included words that attributed a quote by Harry.

It read: “My problem has never been with the monarchy, or the concept of the monarchy. It’s with the press.”

The second quote read: “The press is our chief Ideological weapon” – something that was once said by the former premier of the Soviet Union, Nikita Krushchev. Upon sharing the picture, Omid captioned it with a quote by author Toni Morrison.

The quote read: “If there’s a book you really want to read, but it hasn’t been written yet, then you must write it.” Alongside this, Omid wrote: “So I did! It’s been the toughest work of my career…”
