Prince Harry and Meghan Markle snubbed by Royal Family 'over fears of tell-all book'

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have been snubbed from King Charles’ birthday celebrations and Royal Family gatherings over “fears of being quoted in a future tell-all book,” it has been claimed.

King Charles III is celebrating his milestone 75th birthday today – but without Harry, after a representative for the Duke of Sussex last week said there had been “no contact” regarding an invite. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are reportedly unlikely to reunite with the Royal Family for Christmas.

Harry’s rift with the Royal Family seemingly remains extremely deep. The Sussexes made several claims against the Royal Family during an interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021, as well as in their Netflix docuseries last December. Harry then made further claims in his memoir, Spare.

Meghan is planning her next career move and has been tipped to write her memoir, although experts fear she could follow her husband by making more claims against the royals – further deepening the rift between the Sussexes and the Royal Family.

Ryan McCormick, co-founder of Goldman McCormick Public Relations in New York, believes the royals are fearful of being caught up in another storm around a tell-all book.

He told The Mirror: “If you try to make a name for yourself by severing the hand that raised you, don’t be surprised when you don’t receive Christmas invitations from them. In Harry’s memoir ‘Spare’, he calls King Charles’ second wife Camilla “dangerous.”

“Charles may still be upset by it. Also, he and other members of the Royal Family may not want Harry and Meghan around for fear of being quoted in a future tell-all book.”

Harry released his much-anticipated tell-all memoir Spare on January 10, 2023 and it quickly smashed sales records in the UK, US, and Canada on its first day of sale.

Meghan has even been tipped to make “tens of millions of dollars” from writing her rumoured memoir.

Mark Boardman, an entertainment expert with more than 20 years of industry experience, told Daily Express US: “Meghan Markle has the potential to make a substantial amount of money from her memoirs, ranging from several million dollars for the advance alone to tens of millions or more when accounting for royalties, international rights, and related opportunities.

“Being a significant public profile like Meghan Markle can secure substantial advance payments from publishers.

“Advances for high-profile memoirs can range from several million dollars to even tens of millions, depending on the bidding war among publishers.”

But Boardman warned Meghan could destroy any hopes of a long-awaited “comeback” if she decides to disclose further “bombshells” against the Royal Family.

He continued: “Meghan’s memoirs could stir controversy and reignite debates surrounding her relationship with the Royal Family, especially if she chooses to reveal previously undisclosed details.

“Any further revelations or ‘bombshells’ about her time as a royal could impact her career and reputation in various ways with an almost impossible task to make a further comeback.

“The impact largely depends on the nature of the disclosures. Positive revelations about her experiences and her charity work could enhance her reputation and strengthen her brand as a humanitarian.

“But if her memoirs contain highly critical or contentious content, it could strain her relationship with the Royal Family further and polarize public opinion. It’s a fine line to walk, and Meghan would need to carefully consider the potential consequences.”
