Multiple casualties after tour bus crashes in Manhattan


At least 40 people have been injured after a crash involving two buses in Manhattan, New York.

The New York City Fire Department said it had been called to a crash between East 23rd Street and 1st Avenue earlier today.

Local media reports suggest the incident involved a tour bus and a Metropolitan Transport Authority vehicle.

Google Traffic reports a crash near to the Icon Parking facility with the road blocked heading towards 1st Avenue.

The FDNY said: “FDNY units are currently operating at a bus collision on East 23rd Street and 1st Avenue in Manhattan. Currently there are approximately 40 injuries to civilians.”

Videos from the scene show fire service personnel guiding injured people onto another bus. It is unclear the extent of the injuries suffered by those at the scene.
