Moment Prince Harry sparked royal rift revealing he and Prince William on 'different path'

Prince Harry will appear at tonight’s memorial event for his late mother Princess Diana, but not in person.

He’ll be missing out on a chance to reconcile with Prince William, some years into a supposed ‘royal rift’ between the brothers.

The Duke of Sussex first hinted at a feud during an interview with ITV’s Tom Bradbury back in 2019.

He and Meghan Markle later touched on it during their conversation with Oprah Winfrey back in 2021.

“Part of this role and part of this job,” he explained in the initial interview, “and this family being under the pressure that it’s under, inevitably, stuff happens.

“But look, we’re brothers, we’ll always be brothers.

“And we’re certainly on different paths at the moment, but I will always be there for him.

“As I know he will always be there for me. You know, we don’t see each other as much as we used to, because we’re so busy.

Harry maintained he still loves his brother “dearly”, but touched on the royal rift again when he and his wife Meghan sat down with Oprah in 2021.

“As I’ve said before, I love William to bits. He’s my brother,” he shared.

“We’ve been through hell together. I mean, we have a shared experience. But we’re on different paths.

“The relationship is space at the moment. And time heals all things, hopefully.”

Though he shared his hopes to heal the alleged rift between him and William, they won’t be appearing together in person at today’s event to honour Princess Diana.

Instead, he’ll be streaming live from California to deliver a personal message about his beloved mum.
