Missing Suzanne Morphew's family break silence three years after disappearance

The family of a woman who went missing three years ago have spoken out. Suzanne Morphew disappeared while on a bike ride in 2020.

She was riding with her family in Salida, Colorado, at the time. Her body has never been found and no one has heard from Suzanne in the three years since.

In 2021, her husband Barry was charged with murdering his wife. But last year prosecutors dropped all charges against Morphew and a judge sanctioned the district attorney’s office.

Now, Barry along with daughters Mallory and Macy have spoken out about Suzanne’s disappearance. Speaking to ABC News’ Good Morning America, Barry says he thinks Suzanne made “bad decisions” because she was struggling with drugs and chemotherapy while battling Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

Speaking to ABC News, Barry said: “We had a wonderful life, a wonderful marriage. She was just so loving and giving, and such a good mother.

“I know that she was going through chemotherapy for the last couple years before her disappearance. I know she was going through some hard things and made some bad decisions. She was really having trouble with the chemotherapy and the drugs.”

Addressing the broadcaster, he said his heart was “broken” and said he initially struggled to believe his wife was missing. Meanwhile daughters Mallory and Macy said they were “very, very sad.”

They described losing their mother as “so traumatic” and “literally our worst nightmare”.

Barry, when asked about if he had something to do with the disappearance said “absolutely not”. Daughter Mallory told the network she “never had a shred of doubt” over her father’s innocence.

Barry also criticised prosecutors for pursuing the case against him. He said they had “tunnel vision” and were “wrong”. Barry has now filed a $15 million lawsuit against more than 20 officials.

According to ABC News, prosecutors provided text messages showing a possibly “strained marriage” between Suzanne and Barry. Although, the family deny the marriage was in trouble. They also allege Suzanne had been having an affair.

Suzane’s body has never been found. Barry meanwhile says he has left Colorado due to the scrutiny of the case.
