Meghan Markle urged to 'reestablish herself' ahead of next major project with Prince Harry

A PR expert has praised Meghan Markle’s recent seemingly-heightened social presence as it is a way to “boost promotion” ahead of her next projects.

The Duchess of Sussex has appeared to be increasing her presence on social platforms – with a picture of her and some friends recently being shared by a friend on Instagram.

During a past interview in 2020, Meghan declared that she was staying away from social media for “self-preservation” and that she had “not been on social media for a very long time”.

Penelope Banton, Embryo’s Digital PR Lead, told Express.co.uk: “It’s likely The Duchess will have been advised to reestablish herself on social media to boost the promotion of her latest endeavour – something I would very much endorse to increase organic PR.”

Speaking of a possible venture for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, the expert said: “It does however beg the question if Meghan has made a social comeback ahead of the release of ‘Meet Me at the Lake’.”

Ms Banton’s recent comments follow speculation that Meghan and Prince Harry are planning on creating an adaptation of the best-selling novel by Carley Fortune.

The couple have reportedly bought out “rights” to the novel, although this has not been confirmed by the couple, Netflix or the book’s author.

Although some are likely to react negatively to Meghan’s social presence, Ms Banton said: “Whilst Meghan Markle champions the ‘right to privacy’, she can also hold active social media accounts and remain somewhat private.

“Posting on Instagram, for example, can be as often or sparse as desired – if you’re using it purely for organic reasons, there’s no need to have any sort of growth strategy in place.”

Earlier this week, Meghan was pictured enjoying a meal out with her friends at another “birthday bash”.

The two friends in the picture were her friends hairdresser Kadi Lee and author Cleo Wade.

The Duchess of Sussex can be seen beaming ear-to-ear as she posed with her friends, with Meghan having recently celebrated her 42nd birthday earlier this month.

A few days before her birthday, on August 4, Meghan reportedly went to see the new summer blockbuster, Barbie, at the cinema.

Page Six reported the outing, stating that following the cinema, Meghan and her friends headed to the exclusive San Ysidro ranch in the hills of Montecito.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are currently on the lookout for their next project, particularly after the end of their multi-million-pound deal with Spotify.

The couple signed the deal in 2020, similar to the time they also signed with Netflix.

The couple’s lucrative deal with Netflix is still intact, with Prince Harry preparing to release a brand-new documentary, Heart of Invictus, on the platform later this month.
