Meghan Markle targeted by online imposters hours after launching new lifestyle brand

Online imposters are already trying to cash-in on Meghan Markle’s new lifestyle website…..before it has even been officially launched.

Just two days after the Duchess of Sussex announced her new Internet venture American Riviera Orchard, at least fifteen Instagram accounts have sprung up with exactly the same name.

Others have been opened with very similar names and styles – even down to the logo and florid calligraphy Meghan is using on her real website, which she says is due to go live “imminently” and has already attracted half-a-million followers.

Several of the phoney Instagram pages have also drawn as many as 1,000 followers, suggesting would-be buyers falsely believe them to be genuine.

Attorneys for Meghan, 42, have filed multiple applications at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for a range of “branded” items she aims to sell, from cookware, spices, salsas and chutneys to gardening forks, tote bags, blankets and dog collars.

“Is she selling apples now?”

Calls for comment about the online fake versions, some of which have now been removed, were not returned yesterday by either Instagram or Archewell, Harry and Meghan’s production company.
