Meghan Markle never wanted names of 'royal racists' to be revealed as Scobie row escalates

Mr Scobie said he has spoken to numerous sources close to the Sussexes in order to gather information for Endgame, however he has always denied having a relationship with the couple themselves.

He also denied any responsibility for the publication of the names in the Netherlands, instead putting it down to a “translation error”.

Harry and Meghan were forced to admit in the past that they indirectly contributed to the previous book co-authored by Mr Scobie, 2020’s Finding Freedom, however they appear to have distanced themselves from his latest release.

A royal expert has advised that the King will not dignify this scandal with a response, as Pauline Maclaran, Professor of Marketing and Consumer Research at Royal Holloway, University of London, described the book as a “melodrama”.

She told Express.co.uk: “They [the Firm] will rise above it. The Queen (Elizabeth II) issued a statement after Harry and Meghan first made the claim in their interview with Oprah Winfrey.

“Harry himself has tried to distance himself from those remarks by saying the Royal Family is not racist. He said there may be some unconscious bias. Harry and Meghan’s documentary did not refer [to the allegation]. They have obviously tried to put it behind them. Omid Scobie is just resurrecting all this.”
