Meghan Markle interrupted by assistant in awkward moment as she poses for cameras

Meghan Markle was interrupted by her assistant in an awkward moment as she posed for cameras on the red carpet of a Hollywood event.

The Duchess of Sussex was beaming for photographers at Variety’s Power of Women gala in Los Angeles when her aide prematurely tried to move her out of the spotlight.

Meghan Markle handled the slightly odd moment with grace as she gently brushed the assistant aside while she continued to pose for pictures.

The Duchess of Sussex was centre of attention at the glitzy gala as she revealed she and Prince Harry were working on “exciting things” with the streaming giant Netflix that would make people “feel something”.

Meghan said that she was “proud” of the content they were developing and added that the projects were: “Things that make people feel– I was going say ‘good’, but it’s more than that, things that make people feel something, right?

“But we have so many exciting things on the slate. I can’t wait until we can announce them, but I’m just really proud of what we’re creating. My husband is loving it, too. It’s really fun.”

The Duchess of Sussex also said she was startled by the renewed success of the hit US legal drama Suits, in which she played a leading role.

She said: “Isn’t that wild? It was great to work on, such a great cast and crew. We had a really fun time. I was on it for seven seasons, so quite a bit.

“But it’s hard to find a show you can binge-watch that many episodes of these days, so that could have something to do with it. But good shows are everlasting.”

Meghan was joined by several other A-list celebrities at the star-studded Variety event, including her pal Oprah Winfrey, Leonardo DiCaprio, Dua Lipa and Barbie star Margot Robbie.

Her appearance at the event came as royal biographer Omid Scobie’s bombshell new book Endgame hit headlines after an extract was syndicated by People magazine in the US.

The royal expert, who is said to be a pal of the Sussexes, reported that Prince Harry was “left in the dark” about Queen Elizabeth II’s death and was ignored by his brother Prince William.

The Prince of Wales is said to be seething about the claim made in Endgame, which is due to be published late next week.
