Meghan Markle and Harry set on 'power couple' future as strategy 'helps their image'

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been taking further steps into establishing themselves as a “power couple” as far away as possible from their royal image, a source close to the couple claimed.

The pair, who dominated the front pages over the past three years with multiple bombshell accusations aimed at the British Royal Family, have in recent months signalled that that chapter of their new life is over.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex earlier this year saw their popularity ratings collapse after the release of their controversial Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan as well as the Duke’s memoir Spare.

But they recently turned their focus on causes they have long cared about, jetting off to Germany last month to attend Harry’s cherished Invictus Games – seemingly reclaiming some of that popularity they had lost earlier on.

“They’re pleased by the positive response they’re getting,” a source close to the couple reported.

They added: “It takes the sting out of all the negativity they were getting beforehand and raises awareness of the Invictus Games, which is really what it’s all about.”

The insider noted a significant change in the couple’s behaviour during their Germany stay, suggesting they have now fully realized they no longer need to abide by royal rules when out in public.

Several body language experts have indeed noted both Meghan and Harry, bar some rare moments of stress, appeared to be very relaxed in each other’s company – and especially confident in themselves.

Speaking to In Touch, the insider added: “One of the reasons why they seem so happy together is they are free and clear of the long-reaching arm of the royals.

“They don’t have to worry about following protocol. They can be natural and hold hands and pile on as much PDA as they want without censure from The Firm.”

They suggested the Duke and Duchess have now given up any plan to capitalize on their royal connections.

Instead, Meghan and Harry are pursuing a new strategy to carve a space for themselves as celebrities to the caliber of Michelle and Barack Obama.

“It helps their image to be seen as an influential duo,” they added,”It brings it back to the place where their romance began and they fascinated the world.”

But despite the celebrity lifestyle Harry and Meghan have embraced since stepping down, speculation about the Duchess’s political aspirations was recently renewed.

The death of Democrat Senator Dianne Feinstein this week has left many questioning whether Meghan could soon throw her hat into the ring and seek to secure a spot in Congress.
