Luke Littler trolls Jurgen Klopp after Man Utd beat Liverpool in FA Cup

Luke Littler trolled Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp after Manchester United’s thrilling FA Cup victory over the Reds on Sunday. Darts sensation Littler, a boyhood Red Devils fan, pointed out that he has more ‘trebles’ than the German after Liverpool were denied a chance of winning all three major trophies in Klopp’s final campaign.

United completed a remarkable comeback in extra-time to advance to the FA Cup semi-finals, where they will play Coventry City at Wembley. Amad Diallo scored the winning goal in the 121st minute before being sent off for a second yellow card after removing his shirt amid the wild celebrations.

Littler was quick to poke fun at United’s rivals at full-time, sharing a meme on the social media platform X. The image showed the 17-year-old alongside the Liverpool boss with the caption: “What is the difference between Luke Littler and Jurgen Klopp. Littler has more trebles!”

Despite his vast array of trophies during his eight years as Liverpool manager, Klopp has not won a treble of the biggest competitions – the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup. The only teams to do so in English football are Manchester City and Littler’s Manchester United.

Klopp will leave Liverpool at the end of the season and so the defeat against United means he will never win a treble as Reds boss.

“We did not have a good start but we adapted really well and played a top game,” Klopp told ITV after the game. “At 2-1 up we had so many chances to kill the game off, we were in a rush in some moments and the rest is already history. We were nearly there in extra time and in the end we lose the game. I cannot ask the boys for more.

“We had an intense season so far, you just have to count the games and today was hard. United took a lot of risks, I absolutely respect that.

“The decision making doesn’t get better the longer the game goes on. Congratulations to United for going to the semi-final.”

Meanwhile, Littler was invited to meet United’s squad after his heroic run to the World Championship semi-final. He watched the Red Devils draw 2-2 with Tottenham on January 14 before spending a day at the club’s Carrington training ground.

“Unbelievable, I met Sir Alex Ferguson and got him to sign my top for me. I had a chat with him and I was with [boxer] Tommy Fury as well,” he told MUTV.

“It was good to get me in a quite good seat and I actually wore some decent clothes for once, instead of just trackies!”

Littler wants to one day parade the World Championship trophy at Old Trafford, adding: “Hopefully, I can win the world championship or even a major trophy this year – one of the five or six majors that are on offer – and take it to Old Trafford.”
