Luke Donald speaks out on John Rahm beef after Brooks Koepka's fiery Ryder Cup dig

Team Europe captain Luke Donald has shared his views on the ongoing feud between John Rahm and Brooks Koepka, after the latter lashed out after Team USA’s miserable start to the Ryder Cup. The Spaniard appeared furious with Rahm’s behaviour on Day 1 of the competition, labelling him a ‘child’.

Rahm was partnered up with Nicolai Hojgaard to face off against Koepka and Scottie Scheffler, and the Masters champion managed to secure himself a half-point on the day. Team USA’s failure to win a single point on the first day of the competition saw tempers flare in Rome, and Koepka made it no secret that he as unhappy with how his rival conducted himself.

Speaking after play concluded on Friday, the American said: “I want to hit a board and pout just like Jon Rahm did. But, you know, it is what it is. Act like a child. But we’re adults. We move on.” Koepka refused to expand on his point but seemed outraged by Rahm’s performance, but Team Europe captain Donald refused to make any assumptions about the remark.

Asked about the situation, he said: “I didn’t see any of that. John was a big support system for Nikolai today. To hit a drive down 18, hit it on the front of the green and hit an eagle for half, that’s a lot of passion. Jon’s a passionate person, but I couldn’t imagine him any other way.”
