Loose Women told to 'show some respect' as royal biographer talks Queen's 'fury' at Harry

On Monday’s instalment of Loose Women, the ladies were joined by royal biographer Robert Hardman who discussed the Queen’s relationship with Prince Harry.

When asked what the Queen’s response was to Prince Harry naming his daughter Lilibet, Robert explained: “No, she wasn’t upset by the name, there’s been a slight confusion.

“She wasn’t upset about the name, it’s what happened after that, it’s when the couple put out that she had given her blessing and then the BBC reported that actually, she hadn’t been asked and the couple then went to their lawyers and started legal proceedings.

“Except the palace wouldn’t endorse that line of events, ineffectively it was a case of them trying to say, ‘This is what the Queen said,” and to coin that famous phrase, ‘Recollections may vary.

“The Queen wasn’t so much worried about the name, it was being pushed into a corner to say something she couldn’t actually recollect.” Robert went on to explain that the Queen loved Harry and his daughter Lilibet.

He continued: “There was a very special rapport. Harry was the cheeky one who could do things. More serious was William, he’s very dutiful. Harry was the one that could get the Queen to take part in videos for the Invictus Games.”

However, fans were left unhappy with the comments made as they believed it was disrespectful to speak about the issue as the Queen is no longer with us.

One person said: “The only person who can say how they truly feel is dead. Show some respect. Let it be #LooseWomen.”

A second angry viewer expressed: “A f*****g horse was named ‘Lilibet’ after the Queen which she had no problem with.

“So why would she ever find it offensive that her much loved grandson was naming his daughter after his grandma who he had a great relationship with #loosewomen.”

A third added: “So it’s an ‘unauthorised book’ and yet the media especially ITV have been talking about it as if everything in it is absolute fact, when it’s not fact at all, it’s just made up s**t #loosewomen.”

Another said: “#loosewomen They say never speak ill of the dead, that also goes for not speaking on behalf of them either. Her Majesty must be livid up there.” Somebody else wrote: “Another posh Royal author on #Loosewomen with a book out [klaxon emoji].”

Loose Women airs weekdays at 12:30pm on ITV1.
