Liverpool set for significant fee as Disney+ in talks to secure Klopp farewell documentary

Liverpool could be set for a £10m windfall with Disney reportedly in advanced talks to buy the rights for the documentary charting Jurgen Klopp’s final months at Anfield. Cameras have been following the Reds’ first-team squad since December and interest in the footage has heightened since Klopp’s decision to quit the Merseysiders.

Streaming platform Disney+ has reportedly climbed above the likes of Amazon and Netflix in the battle to win the right to show the documentary. Amazon and Netflix expressed concern over the lack of access they would get to the Anfield dressing room.

Amazon’s All Or Nothing documentaries have in part been successful due to the intimate levels of access the camera crew are granted. Fans enjoyed seeing team talks from Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta and Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.

Netflix have also had success with behind-the-scenes documentaries. Sunderland ‘Til I Die was vastly popular and saw multiple series commissioned.

They Daily Mail reports that Disney+ are in advanced talks to buy Lorton’s footage.
