Sky Sports were forced to apologise during the Qatar Grand Prix qualifying broadcast after Lance Stroll swore during his post-session interview. The Aston Martin driver was furious after he was eliminated in Q1.
The Canadian driver was eliminated in Q1 during qualifying for the Canadian Grand Prix after failing to improve enough to oust 15th-placed Alex Albon from his position.
Stroll was visibly furious upon exiting the cockpit in his garage, shrugging off the comfort of his personal trainer before he appeared to shove him in frustration.
Called to the media pen soon afterwards, the 24-year-old was in a rush to leave. When asked about his emotions following his latest qualifying disaster, Stroll simply replied: “Yeah, it’s s***.”

The interviewer was forced to apologise for the language, before asking what wasn’t clicking for Stroll behind the wheel. The irritated driver responded simply: “I don’t know.”
Asked whether his Qatar Grand Prix has now turned into a test session and what comes next, he shrugged off the question before storming out of the interview.
This is just the latest setback for Stroll, who has endured a miserable 2023 season up against his two-time world champion team-mate Fernando Alonso.
With just one Q3 appearance in the last seven races, Stroll is coming under heaps of pressure from outside of the Aston Martin setup, despite the team insisting that they are content with the 24-year-old’s performances.
Stroll’s performances have even sparked conversations that he may be considering walking away from the sport, however, he remains convinced that he is here to stay at the pinnacle of motorsport.
Speaking to Autosport about quitting earlier this year, Stroll suggested: “One day, we’re all going to wake up and make that decision, I think every driver on this grid. But right now, I’m thinking about the race tomorrow. For sure, I want to keep racing. It’s what I love to do.”
