King Charles sent 'hidden message' with last photos before cancer diagnosis made public

A royal expert has claimed that Buckingham Palace were trying to send their own message with the picture they put out of King Charles.

The new photo, showing His Majesty standing confidently dressed in a suit by an open window at the Palace, was published on social media alongside a statement revealing his cancer diagnosis.

Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond told Sky News about the picture: “This was carefully choreographed probably yesterday, deliberate attempt by the King and the Palace to show that he is ok, that we musn’t worry too much.”

The news about the King’s health comes just a week after he was discharged from hospital after undergoing a procedure to treat an enlarged prostate.

At 6pm on Monday evening the Palace released a statement saying: “During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer.

The King was pictured looking healthy and happy as he waved to fans outside the London Clinic on January 29, with him and Queen Camilla also spotted attending church at Sandringham on Sunday.

The Queen and Prince William are expected to be holding the fort when it comes to royal engagements over the next few weeks as Princess Kate is also out of action.

She underwent major abdominal surgery on January 16, and although she too is out of hospital she will be recovering at home in Windsor at least until Easter.
