King Charles is giving up his £1.2million home in Wales with 192 acres – see inside

King Charles, 74, has owned a home in Wales called Llwynywermod near Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) since 2007 but is reportedly giving up the property.

With its lease expiring very soon, it is said that the King notified the Duchy of Cornwall earlier this year with the intention to give up his lease.

Since Prince William took control of the Duchy of Cornwall, King Charles has been paying rent on Llwynywermod, according to the Telegraph.

Llwynywermod was bought for £1.2million by the Duchy of Cornwall estate on behalf of King Charles in 2007.

The home is set amidst 192 acres of picturesque, rolling farmland close to Llandovery in Carmarthenshire.

According to royal insiders quoted by The Telegraph, the King is still “passionate” about Wales but has chosen to give up the estate since it is “unlikely” he will be able to use it the same way as before.

King Charles monitored how the Welsh property was restored to make it as environmentally friendly as possible.

Welsh building materials, such as lime plaster and Welsh slate, were recycled and purchased locally. Local labourers were also hired.

A wood-chip boiler provides the home’s heating and hot water, and it even features a rainwater collection system.

King Charles’s reception room

The home’s main reception area has a wooden awning and very high ceilings. Two white armchairs are beside a classic log fireplace, and one side of a wooden shelf unit has a display of numerous ceramic vases.

Two printed tapestries are used to embellish the walls. Rugs from the Solva Woollen Mill, which Charles and Camilla have visited, are located inside.

A different angle of the reception area shows a sizable window with an arched shape and a black frame, beneath which are a wooden bench and three flower pots. A black chandelier in the shape of a circle also hangs from the ceiling.

A large wooden dining table and matching chairs with black leather backs are set up when King Charles and Queen Camilla are hosting guests.

King Charles’s bedroom

A double bed with a button-back grey headboard, two cream wooden side tables, and matching floral lamps can all be found in one of the house’s bedrooms.

In addition, there are arched ceilings and cream-coloured walls. A wooden dresser with a mirror and two desk lamps can be found on the opposite side.

King Charles’s bathroom

The bathroom includes a white bathtub and cream-coloured walls and tiles. A tiny painting hangs on the wall, and a Velux window overlooking the bath is also there.

King Charles’s garden

192 acres of open space surround the gardens outside in the Carmarthenshire community of Llwynywermod, close to Llandovery. In their quaint Welsh garden, King Charles and Queen Camilla grow their own fruits and vegetables.
