King Charles faces 'huge Christmas dilemma' with Harry and Meghan with 'no good outcome'

King Charles is faced with a huge dilemma this Christmas with no good outcome, his former butler has claimed, as the Royal Family prepares to get together for the big day in the wake of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s drama following Omid Scobie’s Endgame release.

Former Royal butler Grant Harrold said that the late Queen Elizabeth was a “huge advocate” for Christmas and “wanted everyone together”, however, even though the King will want to carry on that mindset, it is “uncertain” whether this includes the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Endgame was released last month and unleashed a series of sensational claims about the Royal Family.

Omid Scobie – branded Harry and Meghan’s “mouthpiece” has claimed the couple were not involved in the making of the book, however, questions were raised over the source of the author’s claims, as well as the Sussexes’ unusual silence following the release.

Now Harrold stated that if Harry and Meghan aren’t invited to Sandringham for Christmas this year “it doesn’t look good on Charles”. But he added that if Charles invites them – subsequently infuriating other royals – and the Sussexes decide not to go, “that’s on them”.

Speaking on behalf of Slingo, he said: “Christmas is very much a time for the Royal family to be together. It’s a time of caring and being there for each other. Prince Albert was a huge advocate for Christmas and so was the Queen.”

The expert added that the late Queen wanted “everyone there and enjoying themselves” and that the King will “do what he can to carry on that tradition as it has been what he’s used to while growing up.”

But he objected: “Whether Harry and Meghan will be involved, we don’t know. I would like to think they would be there, especially at Christmas. If they aren’t invited, it doesn’t look good on Charles.

“But if they decide not to go, that’s on them. But it would be a bad thing either way. It’s a big statement to make.”
