Kate 'hurt and insulted' by Harry and Meghan as she 'closed mind' to mending rift

Kate Middleton and Prince William have firmly resolved that the rift with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle cannot be repaired, according to insights from a royal expert.

Jennie Bond, a former BBC royal correspondent, claimed that it’s evident Kate has been hurt and offended by statements made by the Sussexes.

She recounted how the Princess of Wales and Prince William made efforts to mend the British Royal Family’s divisions at Prince Philip’s funeral in April 2021.

Unfortunately, after a heated argument, it became apparent that reconciliation was not achievable, she said.

The rift between Harry and William initially surfaced in 2019 when they confirmed they were pursuing “different paths” in life and the division deepened in January 2020 when Harry and Meghan formally stepped down as working members of the Royal Family.

Bond told OK Magazine: “There comes a point when you just have to accept that happy families are not a game that everyone can play.

“Catherine has been hurt and insulted by things that Harry and Meghan have said, but she and William are a very strong team, and I suspect that, together, they’ve come to the conclusion that the rift with Harry cannot be fixed in the foreseeable future.

“They’ve closed their minds to that possibility and decided to get on with their lives.”

Despite Prince Harry’s occasional visits to the UK, particularly following the passing of Prince Philip and the late Queen, the rift between the two royal brothers remains unresolved.

The once-dubbed “Fab Four” even appeared together in photographs at a funeral service for the late Queen in Windsor.

However, it is likely that a series of claims made in Harry and Meghan’s Netflix docuseries, as well as revelations in the prince’s book, “Spare,” have contributed to heightened tensions.

The royal expert said that, like his father, “William can be quite hot-headed, but Catherine is adept at calming him down”.

She added that she’s sure William and Kate are “a great support to one another and that Catherine is the most incredible source of encouragement for William”.

Their marriage is founded on “enduring friendship”, the royal expert said.

Bond added: “I’m sure William has called on the strength of that friendship to help him come to terms with the loss of his wingman, his brother.”

Buckingham Palace is reportedly weighing up its options for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s future accommodation in the UK after it was revealed the King’s youngest son was left with nowhere to stay during his brief stopover earlier this month.

It comes amid alleged tensions surrounding Harry’s role as Counselor of State, which makes him one of seven Royal Family members who can deputize for the King if he is unwell or abroad.

Counselors of State are required to have a home in Britain but Harry is effectively homeless in the UK after being evicted from Frogmore Cottage earlier this year.
