Kate and William clear royal diary for very special week with George, Charlotte and Louis

The Prince and Princess of Wales typically keep their royal duties to a minimum during the school holidays to ensure that they spend special family time with their three young children – Prince George, 9, Princess Charlotte, 7 and four-year-old Prince Louis. Like all children across the UK, the young royals are currently enjoying a break from school for the Easter holidays. The three children all attend Lambrook School in Windsor, having started there last September.

It has been tradition for the couple to take their children away to spend time at Anmer Hall, which is located in Norfolk, for the Easter holidays.

But last year the family-of-five didn’t spend their Easter break in Norfolk as they opted to go skiing in France instead.

It is not known exactly how the Wales’s are spending their holiday this year, but it’s likely to involve some outdoor activities.

During a rare interview with the Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast in 2020, the then-Duchess of Cambridge shared that she loves to spend time outside with her three children.

She told host Giovanna Fletcher that her favourite time with her children is “outside in the countryside” and when “we’re all filthy dirty”.

Royal expert Katie Nicholls once told OK! that Kate has been “interested in how outdoor learning can benefit children”.

She added: “[Kate is] aware of screen time and tries to limit the children being exposed to too much.

“When the children take a break [from school], she takes them outside, come rain or shine.”

Ms Nicholls said that Kate “wants them to get fresh air”, adding that if the children are “learning about rivers or the sea” then she and William will try to “incorporate that into their walks”.

Royal expert Ingrid Seward recently told the Mirror that the royal couple have kept Anmer Hall for “such occasions” as school half-terms.

She said: “The children have their ponies and pets there and they have the freedom to have fun on the King’s Norfolk estate.”

One thing that the royal couple could be embracing on their current break is their love of sports. The Princess of Wales is known for being sporty, with the three children all reportedly having inherited her keen interest.

Kate has previously stated that she had played games of rugby with her two sons. In January, during a reception for the England Wheelchair Rugby League squad, Kate revealed that her youngest child, Louis, is “rugby mad”.

Kate is also understood to enjoy taking the children to a pottery painting attraction in Norfolk.

Whilst on a past break there, one fellow customer previously tweeted that “Kate Middleton, Prince George, Charlotte and Louis were also here on Saturday!”.
