Judd Trump risks backlash as star takes dig at UK snooker fans while in Saudi Arabia

While @Snooker_WAG understood Trump’s comment if he was comparing the lucrative Saudi tournament to the opening stages of UK events. “I can see how it’s better than the early rounds at some tournaments, and even than some quarter finals when it’s a two-table set up,” they added. “But if you compare it to other one-table matches at big events like the Masters, or even Champ of Champs, it’s nowhere near as good.”

Their sentiments were echoed by @CMS_Snooker_TV, who wrote: “I’m assuming he’s comparing it to the early stages of home nations events, which is a pretty big jump considering this is an invitational event with the top 10 players? Is the atmosphere better than day 1 at the masters? Absolutely not. Poor form here @juddtrump”

Players have been overwhelmingly positive about their experiences in Saudi Arabia at the tournament, but Trump may be risking alienating his UK fanbase with such statements.
