Jan 6 pinball machine, bedazzled hats with Trump hair and woke tears water at CPAC Day One

There was no shortage of Donald Trump-inspired attractions and paraphernalia at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) near Washington, D.C., on Thursday.

The four-day event includes notable speakers such as former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, Gov. Kristi Noem, former US Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, former Trump campaign strategist Steve Bannon, and the former president himself.

The Gaylord Convention Center was decked out for CPAC this weekend, with one hall full of different shops and activities for MAGA fans.

Among the many things to see in the centre was a large Trump campaign bus parked in the middle of the hall, with messages from Trump supporters written across it.

There were bedazzled MAGA hats, purses, and jewellery, and baseball caps with Trump’s hair even sticking out of them.

It was also American flag galore at the conference, where flag-covered dresses, sweaters, and shoes were up for purchase.

Stands with cigars and “wanted” Trump signs, “patriot” pinwheels, handmade knit swings reading “Trump 2024,” and “woke tears water” were also inside the hall as MAGA fans wandered through the different stops.

But maybe the most eye-catching attraction was a large pinball machine created for the January 6 US Capitol attack. Created by Freedom Dawg Games, the game featured different moments in the historic riot, including winning points for hitting “fake news” and “voter fraud.”

Pictures and scenes from January 6 covered the pinball machine, allowing players to take a trip through the infamous day.

Other attractions inside the event included a live painting of Jesus Christ, in which a woman painted along with music as people watched in awe.

MAGA fans seemed to be having a lot of fun on Thursday, including five Trump supporters who wore shirts spelling out “Trump” and Texas-themed pants.

Lisa Wolf, one of the attendees, said to Daily Express US: “It’s been a ton of fun. This is like my rock concert. I don’t have to go to a real rockstar concert, because for me, meeting the people that we meet, those are my rockstars.”

Other supporters at the event wore similarly prideful outfits, including one woman wearing a sequin-covered American flag pantsuit and one man dressed up as Uncle Sam.

CPAC will continue through Saturday, with tickets selling for $300 per person.

The conference began in 1974 with an inaugural speech by then-California Gov. Ronald Reagan. But since 2016, it’s become a devoutly pro-Trump space where voters show their support for the billionaire politician and lawmakers and media figures court his approval.

This year’s speakers list includes Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida, MyPillow founder and longtime Trump supporter Mike Lindell, Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio, and former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi.

Notably absent is Nikki Haley, who is gearing up Saturday’s Republican primary in her home state.
