Israeli witnesses have delivered horrifying accounts of sexual violence and torture at the hands of Hamas terrorists during the devastating October terror attacks.
Hamas militants descended on the Nova music festival and carried out brutal rapes and murders of attendees on October 7.
People escaping along Route 232, leading away from the festival venue near Re’im, a kibbutz in southern Israel, said they witnessed attacks and saw bodies lining the road.
Pictures released following the bloody invasion show the extreme extent to which some of the victims were brutalised. Some women targeted by the militants had nails driven into their thighs and genitals, the images have shown.
One dark image, shared with the New York Times, showed “the woman in the black dress”, the corpse of an Israeli woman identified as Gal Abdush.
The picture showed the woman left in a horrifying condition on the floor, with burns on her legs. The full details are too graphic to describe. Ms Abdush and her husband were killed as they tried to escape, leaving their sons, Eliav, 10, and Refael, seven, orphaned.
According to witnesses, the woman’s case was far from unique, with soldiers and investigators claiming others were in a similar state, with signs of abuse. One witness, named Sapir, said she watched on from a hiding place off Route 232 as Hamas gunmen horrendously gang-raped several women.
She claimed she saw the men stabbing their victims in the back when they protested and “cut off their breasts.” Sapir went on to describe the aftermath, which she claimed included the sick individuals’ handling of body parts.
Other witnesses detailed similar horrors, with one volunteer who was tasked with identifying corpses scattered across the route saying one woman had “all her internal organs removed”.
Israeli officials brought approximately 1,300 bodies to an army base in Ramla following the attacks in Israel, and military forensic teams were tasked with identifying each one.
A reserve warrant officer said the teams had “seen dismembered bodies with their arms and feet chopped off” and claimed to have seen a beheaded child.
