'He can't win!' Prince Harry's flying visit to see the King fiercely defended by TV host

Prince Harry’s decision to fly to the UK earlier this week has been fiercely defended by a TV host.

Harry’s visit came just a few hours after Buckingham Palace confirmed that King Charles had been diagnosed with “a form of cancer”.

The 39-year-old Duke of Sussex landed at Heathrow Airport on Tuesday afternoon, before making his way to Clarence House to see Charles.

The former royal is said to have been “worried” after learning of the King’s cancer diagnosis, news he had found out directly from his father.

Following criticism over his visit – which lasted a total of just 25 hours – Harry has now been defended over his recent visit to the UK.

Speaking on Thursday’s GB News, host Ellie Costello suggested that Harry “can’t win” in the current situation.

Discussing Harry’s short visit, Ms Costello claimed that Prince Harry had been put in a tough spot.

She said: “I don’t know if Harry can win in this situation. In a way, he did the right thing, getting on a plane as quickly as he did and being by his father’s side.

“Then it was a very quick meeting. 45 minutes and he was gone again within 24 hours.”

Sources confirmed that Harry was set to travel to the UK shortly after the news of King’s cancer diagnosis was made public.

It has been reported that the King’s youngest son agreed to wait to travel until after Buckingham Palace had made the shock announcement.

Just 25 hours after arriving in the UK, Harry was spotted back at Heathrow Airport.

Much like Harry’s appearance at the King’s Coronation last year, Meghan Markle opted against making the trip to the UK to see her father-in-law. Meghan decided to stay in the US with their two young children, Prince Archie, four, and Princess Lilibet, two.

Speaking to the Mirror about Harry’s appearance at Heathrow Airport – as he waited to travel back home to Meghan and his children – body language expert Judi James said that he appeared to hint at how his meeting with his father went.

She said: “His shoulders and body look relaxed and the way he thrusts his hands into his pockets as he walks suggests more of a casual ‘mooch’ than any sign of tension or anxiety.

“…The suggestion here is that he is hopefully leaving the UK with some sense of reassurance, having seen his father for their brief meeting.”
