Harsh Princess Kate nickname in bombshell book comes from Meghan's favourite comic

Omid Scobie has claimed in his explosive book, ‘Endgame,’ that the Princess of Wales is widely known by the nickname ‘Katie Keene’. The moniker, attributed to her eagerness to please palace officials, has sparked curiosity about its origin.

The claim suggests that this nickname is inspired by Kate Middleton’s perceived eagerness to please palace officials.

In the United States, ‘Katy Keene’ is a well-known character from the Archie comic book series and, coincidentally, happens to be a favorite of Meghan Markle’s.

In the comics, Katy Keene is a girl-next-door with aspirations for fame, eventually achieving stardom on Broadway.

Meghan, who has spoken about Archie Comics before, told Mindy Kaling on the Archetype podcast: “I read a lot of Archie Comic books as a child. I always wanted this cookie-cutter perfect life.”

She also shared on the same podcast that she identified with the character Betty, known for her kindness and compassion, saying: “I’m the smart one, not the pretty one.”

The comic character, introduced to the public in 1945, has since been turned into a TV show starring American actress Lucy Hale.
