Harry opens up on putting the past behind you and 'focusing on future' in Netflix series

Prince Harry opens up on putting the past behind you and “focusing on the future” in his new Netflix documentary, Heart of Invictus.

The Duke of Sussex’s comments appear to be a subtle statement towards his own personal life, having stepped down as a working royal in 2020.

Harry’s new five-part documentary, which was released today, follows a group of competitors in the Invictus Games, which launched in 2014.

The royal founded the Games in 2014 after being inspired by the Warrior Games the previous year.

During the third episode, Harry said: “Knowing how dark it gets, and how dark it has got for some of these people, one step forward [and] three steps back.”

Along with his wife Meghan Markle, the couple moved to the UK to begin a fresh start away from all Prince Harry had known in his life.

Harry has not been one to shy away from speaking out about his past, particularly since stepping down from life as a working royal.

One constant in Harry’s life is the Invictus Games, with the event taking place every year.

The new documentary follows last year’s event, which was held in The Hague in the Netherlands.

Fast forward to this year, Harry is gearing up for the start of the 2023 Games next month.

Following a short visit to London for the WellChild Awards, Harry will fly to Germany – with the Games taking place in Dusseldorf.

The Games will begin on September 9, and run until September 16. Meghan will join him in Germany on September 11 – two days into the event.
