Harry and Meghan won’t ever have a ‘normal life’ because they ‘seek celebrity status'

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped back from their royal duties in search of normalcy, but the question still remains as to whether or not they’ve achieved this goal.

Daily Express US reached out to Pauline MacLaran, a professor at Royal Holloway, who says their life may be quieter, but based on their pursuits, they won’t ever have a normal life, at least not in the traditional sense of the word.

Dr MacLaran says: “I guess they have acquired a quieter life in their great place in California, in that they’re not always having the press watching them, the way it’s so intrusive in Britain.”

She adds: “But, I don’t see they’ve got a normal life in the way they’ve been seeking to develop themselves, they never can have a normal life when they seek some sort of celebrity status, which they obviously do.”

MacLaran creates a baseline, as to what defines “normal,” saying, “It’s all relative, feeling normal. But, basically, you can’t live in a $16 million mansion and be normal, anyway, because you’re not. And if you have to seek the revenue to keep that going and have a celebrity status, it’s impossible to have a normal life.”

She goes over their past projects: “I feel that the things they did when they were criticizing the royals, like their documentary and Spare, which were the two big things that really got wide publicity, but also probably worked against them in a paradoxical way.”

“I feel those really overshadowed the mission of their foundation and their good works.”
