Ghislaine Maxwell moans of 6am wake-up calls and too much tofu in Florida jail

Ghislaine Maxwell said she is “suffering from depression” as she complained about the 6am wake-up calls she faces in prison. Maxwell offered insight into her treatment inside FCI Tallahassee as she addressed her relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and Prince Andrew. She said: “They wake you up at six and you can go to breakfast, which consists of cereals and a piece of fruit, generally.

“Then you have to make your bed, sort of military-style so there’s nothing sticking out. Otherwise, you can get into trouble.

“Then at 7.30 you go to work, and for me that means I go to the law library to help people so they have detainers or have warrants or they’re trained to appeal their cases.”

She added: “I also help people file out their administrative remedy. And that is until 10 o’clock when you then have to come back into lunch.

“The portion control is very odd, and because I’m on a no-meat diet, there’s supposed either hummus or cottage cheese or tofu. But mostly, I’d say 95 percent [of the time], it’s tofu or beans.”

During the interview, Ghislaine Maxwell offered no apology to the victims of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein as she addressed her relationship with the disgraced millionaire and Prince Andrew in a bombshell interview from prison..

Maxwell, who is currently serving a 20-year sentence for trafficking girls to Epstein, argued his victims should already “have some closure” thanks to the judicial process that investigated Epstein’s conduct before his death.

Lisa Bloom, a US attorney who represented several of Epstein’s victims, hit out at Maxwell for failing to apologise to the women and accused her of “playing the scapegoat” as she refused to offer information about the disgraced sex offender’s “little black book”.

Bloom said: “They’re glad Ghislaine is exactly where she should be, in prison. Whenever she opens her mouth, you can predict she’s going to be feeling sorry for herself, playing the victim, playing the scapegoat. It’s just the same old thing from her.”

The contents of the book, which includes the details of Epstein’s clients, were unveiled only to members of the jury during Maxwell’s trial last year.

Maxwell also claimed New York authorities “allowed” Epstein to kill himself whilst in custody, and questioned the veracity of a picture of the Duke of York with his accuser Virginia Giuffre

Asked to address Epstein’s victims in the interview, the disgraced socialite said: “I say that Epstein died and they should take their disappointment and upset out on the authorities who allowed that to happen. And as I said I hope they have some closure by the judicial process that took place.”

During the interview, Maxwell also opened up about her personal experience with the late Queen: “She had a warmth and a sparkle in her eyes that was mesmerizing really.

“We talked about horses, briefly, I remember and just shared a love of horses.”

In the interview with TalkTV’s Jeremy Kyle, Maxwell also expressed her personal doubts about the veracity of a picture allegedly showing Prince Andrew with his accuser Virginia Giuffre.

Maxwell also alleged she had “no memory of them meeting, adding: “And I don’t think that picture is real

“It is a fake. I don’t believe it is real for a second, in fact, I am sure it is not. There has never been an original, there is no photograph.

“There is no original of that photo, (just) copies of copies and parts of it, according to some experts, look like it has been photoshopped. I don’t remember her in my home.”

Maxwell added: “I know that Virginia travelled with Jeffrey, and so it’s entirely possible. It wasn’t something so outrageously out of leftfield that it couldn’t have happened.”

DON’T MISS:

Giuffre handed the original photo to the FBI in 2011 as the Bureau investigated Epstein after his first conviction, evidence recording logs have shown.

She alleged to have been trafficked by Epstein and have been forced to have sexual intercourse with the Duke of York when she was underage.

Prince Andrew has repeatedly and vehemently denied the accusations, claiming to Newsnight in 2019 he had “no recollection of ever meeting this lady, none whatsoever.”

Giuffre also directly dismissed accusations about the photo being a fake during an interview with Panorama.

She said: “I think the world is getting sick of these ridiculous excuses. It’s a real photo. I’ve given it to the FBI for their investigation and it’s an authentic photo.

“There’s a date on the back of it from when it was printed.”

The photo, showing the Duke of York with his arm around Giuffre and a beaming Maxwell in the background, was taken at the heiress’s London home in March 2001 after a night out at Tramp nightclub, Giuffre claimed.

The Duke of York last year settled a civil sexual assault case lodged by Giuffre for an undisclosed amount. He makes no admission of liability.
