F1 LIVE: Red Bull warned about Max Verstappen statement as Lewis Hamilton called out

Dutch racing driver Tom Coronel has warned Red Bull that their star man, Max Verstappen, is not bluffing with his statement on Helmut Marko.

Verstappen claimed he could quit the team if Marko, who said he was under threat of suspension in Saudi Arabia, is forced out.

The team’s motorsport advisor has since clarified that he will be staying on.

When asked whether Verstappen’s threat was genuine, Coronel told RacingNews365: “If Verstappen says that, then it will really happen.

“In that respect, they are starting to tread on thin ice at Red Bull Racing, let’s call it that. They are trying to get away from Marko just a little bit.

“So that they can take a more seated seat and push through the decisions a little more easily. Ultimately, that is what I think is happening.

“There is simply a power struggle going on between Austria and Red Bull Racing in England.”
