A disturbing video has emerged of a nonverbal autistic child being abused on camera, and now the boy’s parents want answers.
NBC News is reporting that 3-year-old Braylen Tootle, who attended the Rosa Parks Early Learning Center in Dayton, Ohio, was victimized by an unidentified school employee.
Tootle’s mother, Taneisha Lindsay, shared the video on her social media platforms when she finally obtained the footage after her lawyers made several demands of the school to do so.
And, Linsday said, she was lied to by school administrators.
Initially, Lindsay said, she was told that her nonverbal autistic son was “swatted” by the employee.
But the video told a completely different story.
In the video, Braylen can be seen running away from the much larger employee in fear, but ultimately was caught up to by the brutish thug, who subsequently — and violently — bashed him in the head, knocking him to the ground.
The school employee then picked Braylen up by his ankles and dragged him back into the classroom.
The school employee was initially placed on administrative leave, with pay — but once the video emerged, he immediately resigned form the school.
Micahel Wright, the attorney for the nonverbal autistic boy’s family, said that the school administration “lied to the family” and deliberately concealed their employee’s intentions.
“They were not being transparent and they have to be held accountable,” he said to NBC News.
Braylen Tootle continues to attend the school and hasn’t had a problem since — but his family wants the employee arrested and charged with assault.
