A Citibank employee was fired after posting a “vile” remark to Instagram which appeared to endorse the slaughter of millions of Jews during the Holocaust.
Nozima Husainova, 25, posted the comments – along with a smiley face emoji – to her Instagram story.
She wrote: “No wonder why Hitler wanted to get rid of all of them.”
The story and Husainova’s social media accounts have since been deleted but a screenshot shared to X by non-profit watchdog StopAntisemitism late Wednesday showed the comments on her story.
Husainova wrote the shocking remark in response to the bombing of a Gaza City hospital which Hamas blamed on Israel. Tel Aviv has since released audio and video evidence which it says proves the strike was actually from an errant Palestinian Islamic Jihad rocket.

Husainova was a staffer at Citi and the investment firm reportedly fired her following the remarks.
A spokesperson from the investment bank told the New York Post: “We terminated the employment of the person who made the revolting antisemitic comment on social media.
“We condemn antisemitism and all hate speech and do not tolerate it in our bank.”
Critics on social media branded her comments “vile” and described them as “unbridled antisemitism”.
After the news of Husainova’s firing, StopAntisemitism posted: “Thank you Citi for saying NO! to antisemitism.”
According to her now-deleted LinkedIn page, Husainova graduated from CUNY Brooklyn College in June 2021 before landing a job as a personal banker at Citi.
According to Glassdoor, the average Citi employee in Husainova’s former role takes home around $75,000 annually.
