Red Bull have released a statement after team principal Christian Horner was cleared of misconduct allegations. The 50-year-old has been the subject of an internal investigation after news of the accusations was made public at the start of February.
A spokesperson for Red Bull said: “The independent investigation into the allegations made against Mr Horner is complete, and Red Bull can confirm that the grievance has been dismissed. The complainant has a right of appeal.
“Red Bull is confident that the investigation has been fair, rigorous and impartial. The investigation report is confidential and contains the private information of the parties and third parties who assisted in the investigation, and therefore we will not be commenting further out of respect for all concerned. Red Bull will continue striving to meet the highest workplace standards.”
Horner was placed under investigation after an unnamed female employee made allegations of ‘inappropriate behaviour’ against the team principal. These claims were promptly and strongly denied by the Red Bull boss.
Despite the investigation – which was carried out by an independent barrister – continuing in the background, Horner maintained his day-to-day duties as Red Bull prepared for a double World Championship defence in 2024.
The 50-year-old was present at the RB20 launch event in Milton Keynes and was also heavily involved in the Red Bull garage as the team carried out their pre-season testing program at the Sakhir International Circuit last week.
After over three weeks under investigation, Horner was exonerated by the independent barrister, clearing him to continue in the team principal role for the upcoming 2024 campaign.
