Boat which is focus of probe into Bournemouth Beach children's deaths 'was not licensed'

Two youngsters – a boy, 17, and a girl, 12 – tragically lost their lives on Wednesday after an incident involving a total of 10 swimmers at Bournemouth beach on Wednesday. A sightseeing boat, the Dorset Belle, has since become the focus of the tragedy and has been impounded by police. It has now been confirmed that the pleasure cruiser, at anchor on Cobb’s Quay in Poole Harbour, “not was licensed” by the local authority, according to a council spokesman.

The exact circumstances of what happened remain unclear, as Assistant Chief Constable Rachel Farrell stressed investigations were still in the early stages.
