Rishi Sunak took a swipe at Angela Rayner’s police probe as he clashed with Sir Keir Starmer at PMQs today.
The Labour leader took aim at the Prime Minister after the Tories suffered a local election drubbing.
But Mr Sunak replied: “This time last year I reminded him of some advice from his own mentor Tony Blair who had said at the time, he can be as cocky as he likes about local elections but come a general election it’s policy that counts.
“One year on from that advice what has he managed? £28bn of tax rises, 70 new business regulations, 30 U-turns and a deputy leader under a police investigation.”
It comes as Ms Rayner is facing a police investigation into her living arrangements from a decade ago.
