Aston Martin 'prepare attractive package for Max Verstappen' to rock F1 world

Aston Martin are reportedly preparing a mega offer to Max Verstappen that would see him depart Red Bull and team up with chief technology officer Adrian Newey once again. The three-time world champion’s future has been in doubt since the saga involving team principal Christian Horner exploded, with Aston Martin ready to pounce.

Auto Motor Sport claim that the entire grid is waiting for Verstappen to determine his future, despite the 26-year-old pointing out that he has a contract until 2028 with Red Bull at the Australian Grand Prix.

But Aston Martin are also said to be ‘in conjunction’ with Red Bull chief designer Newey and want to pair him with Verstappen, with Fernando Alonso out of contract at the end of the season. Aston Martin believe that they can prepare a more attractive package to Verstappen than Mercedes, who have made no secret of their interest in the Dutchman.

With Newey and engine partner Honda at Aston Martin, Lawrence Stroll’s outfit believe that they can outdo their rivals should Verstappen decide to part ways with Horner at Red Bull.

Though Verstappen does have a long-term contract at his current team, he and senior advisor Helmut Marko reportedly inserted a secret break clause into his deal that would allow the 2024 leader to opt out early.

Aston Martin are not publicly putting the case forward to Verstappen, as the driver must make the first move and decide upon his future, though what has been deemed a very attractive package is waiting to likely race alongside Lance Stroll.
