Amad Diallo speaks out with Man Utd star set for Premier League ban after FA Cup winner

Manchester United hero Amad Diallo had forgotten that he had been booked before whipping his shirt off to celebrate his sensational FA Cup winner against Liverpool. The Red Devils substitute scored deep into extra-time to seal a 4-3 thriller at Old Trafford.

Amad collected Alejandro Garnacho’s pass and steered his short in the corner of the net. The youngster raced towards the Stretford End with his shirt aloft to celebrate his big moment.

However, Amad had already been booked and was subsequently shown a second yellow card by referee Jonathan Brooks. Fortunately for the winger, he will not miss the FA Cup semi-final tie against Coventry City as rules dictate that his suspension will carry over into United’s next Premier League match.

“I forgot the first yellow,” Diallo admitted to ITV Sport. “I am very disappointed to get the red card but the most important thing for me is to win. [To score] against a big team like Liverpool is a big, big moment for me.”
