40 firefighters called to London high-rise as people told to avoid the area


Firefighters in London have been called to a blaze at a high-rise building.

Crews say the property, in the Dalston area, was under renovation at the time.

Around 40 firefighters were said to be at the scene shortly before 11pm on Saturday, October 14.

There were not any reports of injuries.

A London Fire Brigade spokesman said: “We received multiple calls to a fire at a high-rise under renovation on Beechwood Road in Dalston this evening.

“Around 40 firefighters have brought the fire under control and there are no reports of any injuries. Please avoid the area whilst we remain at the scene.”
