Jurgen Klopp told his teeth are 'too bright' as David Moyes wants Liverpool 'daddy' gone

Klopp is regarded as one of the best managers of the Premier League era and led the Reds to the top-flight title for the first time in their history in 2020. The 56-year-old lifted the Champions League and Club World Cup trophies in 2019 and has also overseen FA Cup and Carabao Cup success during his eight-and-a-half year spell on Merseyside.

But Klopp is set to leave Anfield at the end of the campaign after telling fans he had “run out of energy” earlier this year.

And Moyes, who took charge of West Ham for the second time at the end of 2019, joked on Saturday: “I’ll be glad he’s gone. F****** too big, teeth are too bright. He’s been immense for Liverpool, he really has been. I think he’s the daddy there, I really do. And he’s been able to control a big football club, which is something that is not easy to do at times, and I’m glad to see the back of him I’ve got to say. Hurry up and get away Jurgen.”

Moyes won just one of his 15 encounters with Klopp after the ex-Borussia Dortmund boss took charge at Anfield and told reporters his team could “ruin one of his final games as Liverpool manager” ahead of Saturday’s clash in the capital.

And the Hammers took control of the contest just before half-time as Jarrod Bowen headed in Mohammed Kudus’ cross. Andy Robertson drew the visitors level just after the break, before Liverpool nudged ahead through an Alphonse Areola own goal. But Moyes’ team denied Liverpool all three points when Michail Antonio got on the end of Bowen’s cross to head home with 13 minutes remaining.

Liverpool are now two points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal, who have a game in hand over the Merseyside giants. And the Reds also trail Manchester City by one point having played two games more than the Citizens.

“I don’t think about it really,” Klopp insisted when quizzed about the title race in east London. “So, I said before, we need to win our games. We didn’t win the game. That doesn’t improve our situation now massively. Do they (Manchester City and Arsenal) look like they will lose two or three games? No, I don’t think so. But, honestly, I’m not angry or whatever – I don’t think about it.”
