Zara 'struggles walking in heels' unlike Kate who has 'more decent budget', expert claims

When Zara Tindall, 41, appeared at Windsor Castle on Easter Sunday, she wore a £425 pair of Emmy “Rebecca” pumps in the colour blush. Royal fan @catherinemcdowel1 on TikTok wrote: “Poor Zara just can’t walk in heels.”

Style experts spoke exclusively to Express.co.uk to explain why Zara appears to struggle walking in heels.

Bella Hignett, a fashion expert from Bella Hignett Styling told Express.co.uk: “Zara is just not used to wearing heels anything like as much as Kate Middleton.

“Both Kate and Meghan Markle wear heels pretty much every day, or Meghan certainly did when filming and Kate does because of all of her royal duties.

“Kate also has more of a decent budget for high-end court shoes, which are often from Aquazzura, Alessandra Rich and Jimmy Choo.”

The style expert explained what the 41-year-old royal could do to make walking in heels a bit easier.

Ms Hignett opined: “Zara would do well to wear a lower heel or a block heel, which can still be elegant. Or even a platform shoe for the right occasion as they have all the height but less of an angle.

“She needs to really concentrate and work on how she walks in heels, which means engaging her abs and walking heel to toe (ie. smaller steps, like Kate does).

“I always wear my new heels in with thick socks before going out as it stretches the areas that might pinch my feet.

She claimed: “Zara possibly has a higher instep if she is struggling to walk in higher heels and stilettos.”

According to Ms Wyer, Zara should purchase certain brands to walk in heels more fluently.

She suggested: “I’d suggest wearing a slightly lower heel or a style which covers more of the foot, particularly around the instep.

“Examples include the Claudia court from Emmy London, which has a range of colours or the Sayani sandals by Manolo Blahnik.

“A slightly wider, straight heel would also help with stability. There is also a great range of heels now which have slightly padded upper straps, still elegant but a little more comfortable.”

Ms Wyer explained why the Princess of Wales and the Duchess of Sussex tend to walk in heels with perfect ease.

She opined: “Kate and Meghan may have a lower instep so their foot is held inside the shoe easily.

“This could be why they are walking with more ease in high heels.”
