Zara and Mike Tindall, who are celebrating their 12th wedding anniversary today, are very much in love with “authenticity” being the secret to their success, a body language expert has claimed.
The Olympic equestrian and former rugby player tied the knot on July 30, 2011, at Canongate Kirk in Edinburgh, Scotland, as 400 friends and family watched on.
The couple first met in a bar while watching the Rugby World Cup in 2003 in Australia before making it official the following year.
In the two decades since then, the pair now share three children and have delighted royal watchers with their down-to-earth, fun-loving relationship.
Darren Stanton, dubbed the human lie detector after his analysis of key figures in the News of the World phone hacking scandal, believes it is evident that they “love each other very deeply”, having examined the pair closely.
The former England rugby player endeared the nation when he appeared on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! last year, coming in fourth place.
When he left, crossing the famous bridge and greeting his, Mike appeared overjoyed to be reunited with Princess Anne’s daughter, who revealed that it had been “a long few weeks” without him.
She added: “The kids have missed him so it’ll be nice to get him out. It’s just too much, let’s never do this again.”
Mr Stanton believed that Mike going on the show demonstrated the couple’s authenticity which is often seen when they are spotted giggling, laughing and genuinely having a good time together in public.
He continued: “I think there is a sense of authenticity to the pair of them and when Mike went into the jungle, it shed a very positive light onto him.
“When he talks to the camera and other people, he is genuine. And the same goes for Zara, who has great experience in speaking to people — not just as a monarch or a member of the Royal Family, but as an authentic and genuine person.
“They’re certainly not egotistical people — what you see is what you get. Especially now, we see them giggling and laughing in public, showing how comfortable they are with each other.”
