YouTube star with 100k subscribers takes step closer to qualifying for Australian Open

The experience will, of course, be documented on his YouTube channel, which has become so successful that Marie has been able to fund his tennis career and hire a team consisting of an agent, a camera operator, a channel community manager, a graphic designer for his thumbnails and an editor who works on Instagram reels and TikToks as well as the regular videos.

Speaking to the ATP last month, Marie explained: “Thanks to the YouTube channel. I can pay everything, like the cameraman, the six other people who help me on this project. I can pay the flights, the food, the hotels for everyone. It’s thanks to the YouTube channel, the sponsors. In 2014, and ‘15, it was my parents, it was me, so it was more difficult.”

Thanks to his first-round victory in qualifying, Marie will receive a healthy boost of £16,500 (AUD$31,250) in prize money and could pocket even more if he progresses through the rounds and into the main draw. And fans will be able to relive his whole experience when he releases the vlogs from his triumphant return to a qualifying event.
