Yellow heat alerts hit 6 UK regions for first time in 2023 with temperatures hitting 30C


The UK has been hit with its first yellow warning weather alert of the year as six regions are set to be hit with soaring temperatures over the weekend. 

Some places may see temperatures reach as high as 29C or 30C.

An Iberian plume that has been stirred up by a bloc of high pressure across the UK will leave the country scorched.

The UK Health Security Agency and Met Office have issued a yellow heat alert for six regions.
