Wrexham owner Rob McElhenney caught watching live sports game during Emmys

After the awards had wrapped up, the famous comedy couple shared another photo of Rob clutching his Emmy trophy – though he still didn’t look too pleased with the outcome of the night.

“Worth it I guess. Up the town #gobirds #FlyEaglesFly,” he added.

Welcome to Wrexham also picked up Emmy awards for Cinematography, Directing, Editing and Sound Mixing in the Reality Program category.

Additionally, Rob’s other famous series was finally recognised on Monday, though not with an award.

After airing on FX for nearly 20 years, the cast of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, which also includes Charlie Day, Glenn Howerton and Danny DeVito, took to the stage.

“34 nominations in five years vs zero nominations in 16 years? That math is bad!” Kaitlin exclaimed.

They were finally invited to the ceremony to present the award for Outstanding Talk Series, which went to Trevor Noah for his final year on The Daily Show.
