Worst town for broadband outages mapped as one neighbourhood named WiFi nightmare

The worst towns for WiFi outages have been mapped with one neighbourhood labelled a nightmare.

New research by Uswitch has revealed the UK towns with the most reported outage.

The worst area was Nottingham, with 43 percent of people having experienced a WiFi outage at some point this year.

Up next was Liverpool at 39 percent, Brighton at 38 percent and Plymouth at 37 percent.

The place in the UK with the most reliable WiFi was Glasgow, with only 28 percent of people reporting an outage this year.

The Uswitch research claimed that 17 million people in the UK “lost their broadband connection or had it drop out” for a minimum of three hours at some point in the last 12 months.

The day of the week when people were most likely to experience an outage was either Friday or Wednesday with 12 percent of incidents.

They are followed by Thursday at 11 percent, Tuesday and Saturday at nine percent, Monday at seven percent and Sunday at six percent.

The most frequent time of day to lose internet was found to be 11am with 10 percent of those surveyed reporting incidents at this time.

The times 6pm, 7pm, 9pm, 3pm, 2pm and 10am each sat at eight percent.

And with more household devices require an internet connection to work correctly, such as TVs, video doorbells and even lighting, outages become increasingly disruptive.
