A woman has had people in stitches at her hilarious reaction to being told David Cameron is back in government.
Speaking to Channel 4’s Paul McNamara, she was shocked to find out the former prime minister has been made the foreign secretary.
The political correspondent asked her: “Are you a fan of David Cameron?”, to which she replied, “Not really, no.” Mr McNamara then told her: “He’s back, he’s back in government.”
“You’re joking!’ she said, turned her head to the side and grunted, “Oh.”
“He’s the foreign secretary now,” the reporter tells her. She retorts: “Oh, is he? I missed that.”
When asked if she’s ‘glad’ he’s back, she replied: “Not really, no.”
Mr McNamara was in Dudley in the West Midlands to see the reaction to Cameron’s appointment.
One woman called the former prime minister a “waste of space”, adding: “They live in mansions, they haven’t got a clue how the other half live.”
The exchange reminded social media users of ‘Brenda from Bristol’, a viral clip from 2017 when a woman reacted to Theresa May calling a snap general election.
David Cameron is returning to frontline politics after stepping down as prime minister and leaving politics seven years ago.
He is replacing James Cleverly as the foreign secretary, who is moving to be home secretary to replace Suella Braverman.
