Woman's body pulled from Berkshire marina as police arrest sparks probe

A 61-year-old man has been arrested after the body of a woman was found in the water of a marina in a death that police are currently treating as “unexplained.”

Officers were called at just after 10.30am this morning to reports of a body in the water at the Thames & Kennet Marina, Henley Road, Caversham.

After police recovered the woman’s body, a man was arrested on suspicion of murder later the same day.

Detective Inspector Richard Pickering said: “We are in the very early stages of this investigation, and although we have made an arrest, I would urge the public not to speculate on the circumstances of the woman’s death, which is being treated as unexplained at this time.”
