Woman tries to pay for purchase using fake money — then eats the money before arrest

A Florida woman is under arrest after she attempted to make a purchase at Walmart using counterfeit money — and then ate the money when she was detained by the police.

Zipporah Abraham, 38, has been charged with third-degree grand theft and uttering forged bills after she attempted the scam in a North Miami Beach store.

Walmart, like many stores in the United States, have what’s called a “loss prevention officer” in the store to make sure that things aren’t stolen.

One such officer noticed that Abraham was using what she believed to be counterfeit money to pay for a rather large purchase.

A review of the surveillance cameras revealed that Abraham was a habitual offender in the past, and had tried to pass off fake money as real.

Upon further review of the cameras, it was revealed that Abraham also tried to steal large bins filled with goods out of the store without paying for it at all.

And she’d found a window of opportunity to do just that.

When the police stopped her, it was revealed that she’d tried to steal items totalling nearly $1000.

As she was being placed in handcuffs by the police, Abraham then took about $200 worth of the fake money, shoved them in her mouth, and swallowed them.

Abraham is currently being held on $10,000 bail at a correctional center in North Miami Beach.

Records indicate that she is being represented by a public defender.
