Woman ‘raped’ in beach public toilets at popular seaside town resort – man arrested


A large area at Bournemouth seafront has been sealed off by police after a woman was allegedly raped in the public toilets. A 30-year-old man has now been arrested on suspicion of rape.

The allegations are the latest in a string of alleged sexual assaults, including some in the sea, at Bournemouth seafront.

A spokesman for Dorset Police said: “A detailed investigation has been underway.

“We can now update that a 30-year-old man was arrested this morning, on suspicion of rape and remains in custody.

“Specially trained officers are continuing to support the victim, who has been updated with this development.”
