Woman in critical condition after being shoved in front of NYC subway train

A 29-year-old woman has been left critically injured after a stranger shoved her into a moving train at Manhattan subway station.

Police say the woman hit her head on a departing F train before falling onto the roadbed at the Fifth Avenue/53rd Street station just after noon.

New York Police Department (NYPD) is looking for a suspect described as a man in his 30s, who was wearing a burgundy or maroon sweater at the time of the attack.

The victim was taken to New York Presbyterian Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

No arrests have been made.

This comes after a 51-year-old man was stabbed in an attack on the steps of a Bronx subway station just a day before.

The man was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
