Woman, 27, killed in horror crash named as three others fight for life in hospital


Police have named a woman killed in a car crash which left three other people in hospital.

Amanda McAulay, 27, from Lochgilphead, Argyll and Bute, died at the scene when her blue Peugeot 107 was involved in a crash with a white Vauxhall Mokka on the A83 north of Tarbert in Kintyre, Argyll and Bute, on Friday.

A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal and Ms McAulay’s family have been informed.

Three people in the other car, a 49-year-old woman and two men, aged 57 and 19, were taken by air and road ambulances to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.

Their conditions were described as serious but stable.

Inquiries into the cause of the crash are continuing and the road reopened at about 7.30pm.

Sergeant Sean Dempsey, road policing unit, said: “If anyone has dashcam footage or information that may assist our investigation, please contact officers via 101, quoting incident number 1085 of Friday December 8.”
